. . . . Spokane Dave’s ~ Rally Report & Pictures . . . .

Well I for one had a phenomenal time at the Rally this year, and it turned out even better then expected / planned!!!

The weather was perfect, and the company / fellow riders where even better = GREAT PEOPLE.

I might have coordinated this event, but I am here to tell you, all you GREAT guys & Gals showing up and participating / having a good time is what made it a great event, so My ROK hats of to all of you!!!!

A Big THANK YOU to R.O.K. / Kawasaki for supplying us with some goodies to hand out to all the Rally Riders. We had A lot of ROK / Kawasaki Merchandise Certificates, and we did drawings every evening for them. The turn-around time was amazing, so again, a big thanks to Kawasaki / ROK = We look forward to your support and possible participation for the 2011 PNW N.E.W. KLR rally

—————————————————————————————————————-
I showed up early, so Wednesday was a quiet day of getting settled in, setting up dummy tents, and setting up the hillbilly Hilton.

Norris also showed up with his trailer to help secure the Rally BaseCamp.

It was a nice night to just relax with a bottle of fireball, enjoy the camp fire and some Steak.

Thursday morning, My brothers and nephew showed up,
so while they set up their camp I went logging and drug in about 10 Logs for
the weekends cook fire pit and the Main fire pit with the exploder.

After they where set up and I was done playing logger, Marc showed up, and we all headed
off for an afternoon loop ride then back to camp to see the new riders that
had arrived. We did have two adventure riders stop in for a few minutes on their
way westward home. Sorry I cannot remember your names guys (it was a busy
weekend meeting people) but to bad you could not have stayed. maybe you can make it for 2011.

Friday morning, Steve – Cody – Rick – Norris and I headed out to mark the route to North Baldy.

Norris got a front flat on the wayso we where able to try out that Skippy new jack my brothers have crafted
(notice the bike – wheel removed & standing tall = Great Idea guys it worked fabulous!)

After our accent (was a little overcast) we headed back to base camp to meet even more new riders who had arrived.

While I made it look like Steve was picking his nose . . . he was actually pushing up his glass’s

My nephew Thumper84 was chomping at the bit for
another ride, so my brothers, nephew and I did a Friday evening run up over to
Yocum Lake, down to the blacktop and then back down and up the west branch to
base camp. This shot is from one of my favorite spots in the region = Gorgeous View

We had some REAL great times each night around the
huge Group fire pit Thumper84 made for me. Pics aren’t the greatest but figured
I would add them.

It was a weekend of GREAT Cigars as well . . . . .
THANKS Rick & Randy – YOU Guys ROCK !!!

The nice thing about the 2010 KLR
Rally with the marked routes was that guys / groups could ride what ever / when
ever and did not need to make large / Group / Guided rides that created dust. Simply pick your colored route
and Follow the Colored arrows at the junctions.

Saturday We took off in a group of 13 and did the Big north loop up towards
Priest lake, by Granite falls, over to Sullivan Creek and up to Salmo lookout.
However there was an oversight and the back half of the group did the Highline
loop instead of Salmo Lookout.

Granite falls is an amazing sight

We ran into a funny looking midget taking pictures out on one of the routes =

Hey … Where did he get a Rally shirt

We tried all weekend to get all the riders together for one shot, but they where all out having a blast, so

the best I got was 14 in one shot and I believe 22 in another attempt.

Okay . . these where just the Pictures I took,
